Mobile Gas Engineer


Hours: 40 hours per week (Full-Time)

Contract Type: Permanent

Location: Covering multiple sites throughout Scotland

We are seeking a qualified and experienced Mobile Commercial Gas Engineer to join our trusted team. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled professional to work across a varied and well-established client portfolio in Scotland. You will be responsible for the maintenance, servicing and repair of commercial gas systems, ensuring compliance with all safety and legal standards.


Main Duties


As a gas engineer, you will be responsible for a wide range of planned and responsive maintenance tasks, ensuring all systems remain safe, functional and efficient. Core responsibilities include:


  • Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) and Reactive Repairs: Conducting regular servicing and urgent repairs to reduce downtime and ensure compliance with safety standards.trouble shooting and problem solving – assessing, dismantling, repairing, or replacing relevant parts will be a common task.
  • Fault Finding and Diagnostic Repairs: Applying expert troubleshooting techniques to assess faults, dismantle components and repair or replace defective parts efficiently and safely.small installation work.
  • Minor Remedial Works: Carrying out small-scale fixes to rectify non-critical issues before they develop into major faults.
  • Light Installation Tasks: Completing minor installations of equipment or systems as required, following best practices and manufacturer guidelines.


Key Skills and Experience


  • Recognised time served and hold City & Guilds or NVQ3 and previous experience of a similar role.
  • Relevant Commercial and domestic ACS Certificates (COMCAT or OFTEC would also be advantageous).
  • Experience of working in the commercial environment, maintaining, and building good working relationships with clients.
  • Ability to produce clear and concise written reports in a timely manner.
  • Ability to work unsupervised and independently.
  • Full Driving Licence is essential.
